Summary of the Season so far - 28th October 2007

Action from Wideopen v. Ashington

We have started the season back in the top flight. Our first game was a baptism of fire against Cramlington Juniors losing 9-0 even though it was 1-0 at half time. We have also played Red House, Ashington, Bomersund in the league and Cramlington again losing all of these games.

However the cup has been a different story and we have knocked out Ashington, Blyth Spartans, Bedlington and Fordley out of four competitions.

The highlights of the season so far have been the local derby against Fordley winning 1-0 after some great performances from the lads. I also have to mention beating Ashington 1-0 in the cup after Phil Holgate saved a penalty in the last minute. The squad will be challenged this season but Geordie and Me are confident it will only be a matter of time before our cup form is transferred to the league.
