02/10/11: Wideopen 3 - 3 Walbottle
This was an exciting game to watch. We started off the better team and our 1st and 2nd goals were worthy of goal of the season contendors in the opening 10 minutes. After that, Walbottle gave us a very hard time and managed to score 2 goals before half time. The 2nd half was mostly dominated by Walbottle and they managed to get a goal 5 minutes from time, but the Apollos didn't give in and they kept going until we got a goal to equalise seconds from the end.
Final score: 3 - 3

Good News Folks
I know most of you will know by now but we have been kindly moved up a division after finishing runners-up last season.
Although these are great times for the team i would like to ask you all (players and parents) to keep your feet on the ground.
This season will be a tough test as the teams in this league are all very dangerous.
But we have already shown that we can compete with teams in this league as last season we managed to beat West Denton (league winners) 3 0 at home and also recently we had a friendly against the Rockets in which we won 6 0, even more great news is that Jack May managed to finally get his first goal for Wideopen and even managed to get another.
A little reminder to parents here:
In order for the players to be able to play at the start of the season we need to have them re-signed up. So can i ask you all to come to Lockey Park on a Wednesday Night at 6 o'clock with passport size photo's of your son, unless you have already done so. You will need to do this even if you did it last season, as we have to do it every season. Thanks.
