Under 10 Meteors 2012 / 13

U10s League Representative Trials
Two of the Under 10 Meteors' players are to trial for the U10 league representative squad along with other clubs from the U10 Tyne and Magpie Newcastle leagues. A squad of players will be chosen from these trials to play games against various academies over the forthcoming months. Our two players are Martyn Black and our Goalkeeper Nathan Hunter and we would like to wish them the best of luck.

Lightwater Valley

This year the Meteors decided to have an end of season family day out at Lightwater Valley.

On the 30th May 2013, an 8am early start at Lockey Park saw 39 of us laden with picnics and raincoats board the coach and an hour and a half later we arrived at Lightwater Valley Theme Park.

Managers, coaches, players, parents, friends, brothers and sisters of all ages had a great day and even the rain didn't dampen our spirits. Screams and laughter was in abundance as we conquered ride after ride. The Ultimate Roller Coaster, Black Widows Web, Ladybird, Twister, Eagles Claw, water rides, Whirlwind, Sky Rider and Trauma Tower to name but a few.

The park closed at five and damp, weather beaten, shattered but happy we again boarded our coach for the journey home. A great day was had by all.

Karen and Angela would like to give a massive thank you to all our players, coaches, parents, brothers and sisters who over the year have all been involved in our various fundraising events. Our NUFC day out and this trip wouldn't have been possible without your help and support.

A great end to our second season finishing fourth in our league - a huge improvement on last season and runners-up in the Fair Play Awards and we still have Presentation Day too look forward to.

Under 10 Meteors Sponsored Run

The under 10 meteors are very proud to say that they all took part in a sponsored run to raise funds to go to the Newcastle v Liverpool game on April 27th.

The run took place through the muddy fields of Wideopen and up and down the pit heap. Each and everyone of them put in a great effort and all finished the difficult course.  The run was followed by a scrumptious tea served up in our very own club house by our kitchen girls Michelle and Shelley who were looking the business in their new Wideopen aprons.

The night was a great success and the Meteors raised a grand total of £495. Well done to everyone who took part.

27th April 2013: U10 Meteors NUFC Day

A coach collected the excited Meteors and took us  to the NUFC training ground. They enjoyed posing in the official press room and a hard but enjoyable training session with NUFC coaches. We then were taken through to the ground where we were treated with preferential pitch side treatment, food and then seats for the Newcastle v Liverpool game. Daniel Graham and Shane Spedding were the two lucky ones to be ball boys and did the club proud. The best experience in their lives they said.
A great day was had by all, even though the result didn't go our way. Our 3 Liverpool supporters, of course, had the additional pleasure of a convincing win and singing Liverpool songs homeward bound to Lockey Park.
